Learning Objectives

By the end of day 1 participants will be able to:

  • List the required documentation for a new supervisee

  • Articulate the legal and ethical issues related to supervision

  • Describe the essential differences between trainees and associates

  • Articulate and describe the responsibilities of the clinical supervisor

  • Create a personalized supervisee evaluation

  • Write a supervisory plan for each licensure

  • Articulate the differences between just showing up and engagement

By the end of day 2 participants will be able to:

  • Select a documentation process for each type of supervision

  • Analyze the selection and hiring process

  • Discuss cultural and contextual variables in supervision

  • Plan time requirements and structure of supervision

  • Articulate the state requirements for supervision via telehealth

  • List supervision skills that build cooperation in supervision

By the end of day 3 participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the development of the role of the supervisor-supervisee relationship

  • Describe at least one developmental theory of supervision

  • Articulate at least two differing theories of supervision

  • Write a personal theory of change and development in the growth of a supervisee

  • Analyze theories-based models of supervision

  • Demonstrate awareness of differing licensure competencies and supervision styles

More About Your Trainer

DaLene Forester, PhD, LMFT, LPCC has been in private practice in Redding, California since 1996. She is an AAMFT and CAMFT Certified Supervisor, provides Clinical Supervision to Associates, and is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Trainer of EMDR and EMDR on advanced topics. DaLene specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and PTSD.  In addition to her psychotherapy practice, DaLene is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and provides specialized clinical consultation in work with eating disorders, clinical supervision, and EMDR.

Continuing Education Information

NBCC: Advanced Education Institute (AEI) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6657. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. AEI is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. Clinical Supervision Training consists of 15 clock hours of continuing education.

APA: AEI is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. AEI maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This training consists of 15 continuing education credits.

A $25.00 service charge applies to each returned check. All in-person trainings by DaLene Forester, PhD, LMFT, LPCC are held in facilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
